PS4 rises. Xbox One under 1K as I expected. KH 2.5 is staying in the top 5(might not be next week).

2 days of the new Monster Hunter is now almost on par with the sales for one month of the new Smash Bros. That's pretty crazy.

Geez, this is how much 3DS crushes in Japan - Vita would be lucky to have those sales in a semester.

It all comes down to software libraries. Monster Hunter was PSP's ace in the hole that propelled it to 20 million units in Japan. Vita obviously doesn't have that series in a notable manner.

The Vita is more of a niche machine, for games which require higher graphical fidelity, or smaller companies who want to dodge Nintendo's large royalty fees. 3DS is the standard. They both have great libraries.
