It sounds like a direct port. It's probably only to capitalize on the 40 million 3DSs in circulation. If it does well, they have a lot of game potential for the 3DS.
For me, I have no interest, I already played both Rorona's on PS3. Unless the 3DS added a bunch of extras there's literally no point.

Rather have an original game of some kind or at the very least a spin-off. Something new from Gust for 3DS as it'll drum up more interest. Its not like they haven't put other Atelier games on Nintendo handhelds.

If it was Atelier Totori I'd finally stop feeling bad for buying a 3DS that I don't actually use before "New 3DS" was announced. But I already own Rorona twice so this isn't really a priority.
Although I wonder how much I can get towards a vita for trading in my Limited X & Y print 3DS...
