Congrats Sony. Would be more if Japan sells weren't around the 5-10k area for the majority of the year.

It's always been like that in Japan. They're not 400 million people like in the US and their taste in fashion, games and outgoing is drastically different than in the US.

It will probably start selling faster, when it releases in China.

Not only that I believe the tax hike in Japan may have effected video game sales and that may have included the PS4.

Sony has done some things right when it came to handling the PS4, mainly the pre-release media and price point

There's no games that appeal to Japan or fans of Japanese games for it. It's library is mainly triple A shooters. Sales might pick up once the system has more variety there, but that won't be for awhile so long as it's just shooters on the system.

Sounds about right. I mean the only things that really interest me that are exclusives (or at least to it and the Xbox One) are Final Fantasy XV, Persona 5 and Disgaea 5. Once it gets some unique things I will pick it up, but until then I'm fine catching up with PS3 games I never played since I only got mine like 3 years ago in the first place.

I attribute a lot of the success to that. I've never seen a company go after another at E3 quite like that, and it worked. Actually, of my little group of friends, I was the only avid Sony user while the rest used Xbox, and now we all have a PS4 because of the bad taste Microsoft left. Even though changes in policy were made, I think a lot of the damage was already done at that point.

Well that and the tax hike the Japanese govt implemented is what making the PS4 sales in Japan to be not good.
