Uh, I think you messed up numbers 4 and 6; the last line from 6 should go to 4. Other than that, good list.

Whenever I think bromance, Reinhard von Logrenhamm and Siegfried Kircheis come to mind.

If Fullmetal Alchemist is on your "Manliest Bromance" list, the entry MUST be Armstrong and Sigu Curtis.

Are Kenshiro x Rei, Kenshin x Sanosuke, Guts x Griffith spoiler[(before shitstorm)] counted as bromance?

I would personally add Akito and Gai from Nadesico. It was a bit more short lived than many others but it had a huge impact on Akito and his character development through he series. Plus to me Gai was every bit the manly man that Kamina was.

Can't really argue with the list; great choices all.

As an honorable mention, I'd like throw out Gon x Killua from HunterXHunter. That's a friendship for the ages; I kept expecting it to go the "NarutoxSasuke" route, but to my grateful surprise it never did.

Actually, I found it quite easy to choose San.

That's not a bromance. That's a straight up romance.

Mittermeyer and Reuenthal is a bromance. Or Olivier Poplan and Ivan Konev.

Doesn't FruitsBasket's Shigure x Ayame count as a "bromance" or just not "manly" (or maybe full gay)? And why was Ayame not in the poll about male long-hair? I'll third about the Studio Ghibli poll being impossible, most are great in their own unique ways. I'll put down Seita from GoFF (how's that for an acronym?) purely because he went through the most. Chihiro and Sophie saw much growth too so they are second and third for me. My daughter thinks Sophie is #1 and I see her point.

Personally I consider Gon x Killua straight-up romance like at the very least Killua is in love with Gon. Also I read somewhere that Yoshihiro Togashi said Gon and Killua were like a "young Sensui and Itsuki (from his other series, Yu Yu Hakusho)", and those two are canonically gay lovers.

I believe that the two best bromances I have encountered are both manga ones.

First, Asami and Hojo from Sanctuary are awesome. Unlike other bromances, they're more of a "behind the scenes" bromance, so to say, but it's so totally there. Some people may want to view this series as too hard boiled to have a bromance, but I'd disagree, it still has one.

And then of course, my #1 romantic couple are Ash and Eiji from Banana Fish. For a relationship with only one kiss, and nothing more physical than that, damn did those two fall impossibly hard for each other. The art book for the series actually fulfills what was surely requests for more romantic scenes together too. But even if they might not physically have sex or anything, their souls are a perfect match, making the bromance run quite deep in the end.

I actually find Yugi and Atem to be a prime example of bromance. While I am a Yugi/Anzu shipper, I do recognize that the relationship between the 2 Yugis is kind of blurred between brotherly love and being gay.

On the flip side, I don't see it as being gay since that wouldn't exactly work running in a shounen magazine.
