The film's all-new original story will take place after the Mother's Rosario arc. So is this the beginning of Sword Art Online 8: Early and Late? This LN coming next month.

No, "all-new original story" means just that. The author wrote it specially for this movie. It takes place after Mother's Rosario and before Alicization. The Early and Late novel is a collection of 3 side stories: - The safe zone PK ghost stuff from season 1 - The Calibur arc from season 2 - A story about how Kirito met another beta tester after leaving the Town of Beginnings in SAO. This one was never adapted into anime form. |
