Female Mc and a premise that doesn't strike me as very shounen like ...

Really Iffy.

Thank god i'm not the only one. It doesn't really sound unquie either. It's another, "friends trapped in another dungeon or prison and needs to escape". I was hoping for something better. But i'll still check it out to see how bad or good it does.

Demizu is very talented, but those character designs are rough. Some great art on his Twitter account.

Yea, his art outside of faces looks really good. Shame that the preview pic is just the characters.

The interesting question is, with a couple of slots opening up in English WSJ this round, do we by default permanently get 2 out of the 3 new series, or will some other idea be tried?

That's what I'm wondering too. The last Jump Start edition was Black Clover over a year and a half ago, and with Nisekoi and Bleach both leaving I'm not sure what they could get to fill the niche other than trying out new series. Only other options are adding something that's been running for a long while like Haikyuu!! or betting on some of the more recent series to stick around like Straighten Up! or Samon the Summoner.

Either way, I do hope to see a bigger spread in English Jump - I'd suck to lose a 1/3 of my reasons for my subscription in just a couple weeks.
