Hmm, glad they really want to go all out but doesn't this seem a little ambitious?

I wonder who they'll get to play Old man Joseph. He would be the only one who would need a foreign actor to play him.

S...Spain? B-but that's not what the S in S City, M Prefecture stands for. Should be Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture.
What a needless expenditure.

Yeah, hopefully they get an interesting foreign actor. Joseph doesn't really do much in that arc, so a British actor could totally pull it off.

Ugh. I'm already weary of this. You would think part of the reason for choosing part 4 was because they wouldn't have to spend money to film in an extravagant location. This feels totally unnecessary.

"We will be making Part 4 because it has a Japanese lead, a Japanese cast and a Japanese town. So we will film it in Spain!"
Can't wait to see all those Europeans in the background, signs in Latin and a Church or two in the distance!
But really? Wouldn't any small Japanese town suffice?

Just hire that random old man that is walking past their filming set ;P

Oh right, Part 4 and it´s re-imaging Part 8 are the sole Japanese stories. That´s why they stared here.

From the looks of it, if all the cast tried together, they'd just have the muscle strength to support Jousuke's pompadour.

So strange that when the whole point of filming Part 4 is that it's a completely Japanese cast set in Japan...they then choose to film it in Spain. Huh. With Miike at the helm this might end being quite "bizarre" indeed.

It's not like they're spending your hard earned money to make this film.

Well between DiU supposedly being Araki's favorite arc (and that Phantom Blood adaptation from a few years ago being....blacklisted) they had to go somewhere between Battle Tendency and DiU,

I had been hearing rumors about a potential live-action movie, but last I heard it was for Stardust Crusaders. I was not expecting Diamond is Unbreakable, but that does make for a better starting part. (considering how much more self-contained it is than the first 3 parts)
I'm still wondering just how well Jojo will translate to a live-screen format. At least the choice of director is promising, and I do like the sounds of his ambitions for the series. The fact it'll be filmed in Spain (as bizarre as that is), does suggest a lot more effort is going into it than your usual live-action adaptation at least.

The first three parts would be better handled by a British or Hollywood studio, ideally.
They would take much bigger budgets to do properly and would require multi-ethnic casts.
