A bit surprising that Gainax has been hemorrhaging 90% percent of their income over those past five years... How did that colossal chunk of cash vanish that fast??? Confused

I was taken aback when I read "100 million", but then I saw that it is in Yen. I wonder if this lawsuit will have any impact with a potential relicensing of the original series and the End of Evangelion movie for North America.

Gainax might as well stopped producing anime if they lose this and Studio Khara can use the budget to focus on the last Evangelion film.

oh yikes, assuming this isn't settled ASAP who knows what kind of ramifications this will have on both studios. Unless Japan moves faster, litigation can take forever. Oh Gainax you haven't learned, hording money only comes back to bite you in the rear in the end.

I seriously want an anime about Gainax itself
The drama between the founders and directors is fascinating

I don't think it'll have much impact on that. Anno, if not Khara as a whole, has loads of money. They deserve to have what they are owed, but they aren't hurting, by any stretch of the imagination. That would take mismanagement much greater than what even Gainax is capable of. Laughing

I'm wondering if they are maybe making a last ditch effort to raise that capital through PSG. I wouldn't be surprised if they were trying to use that 100 million to help with that production though, either. I'm truly glad Imaishi and Anno, and most of their talent left. The business side of Gainax is just so awful. Sad

It seems like some people in this thread have not realized that the lawsuit is for about US$ 1 million not US$100 millions.

The important question is, how will this affect the sales of Pen Pen plush goods? And also, can they make new ones?
