I’ve been wanting to try this series for awhile since I’ve seen the latest anime(which was ok) and I’m a sucker for SRPGS I wonder if the remake is coming out here as well my guess is yes ohh and this games looks pretty nice too even dou even dou this genre has been used to death

I am unreasonably excited for this game given that I'm not usually a big fan of musou games.

Hopefully Atlus localizes both this and the remake of the original game, although even if they don't, the 2006 anime is a perfectly good adaptation of the original, and Mask of Deception and Mask of Truth are fantastic. (The False Faces was kinda bad, though)

lol I figured @Vanadise would respond to this thread.. usually it's just you and myself going back and forth..

So the trailer answered one of my questions.. it takes place during the events of Mask of Deception. I almost wonder if they are planning a 2nd one of these to cover the events of mask of truth..

And to be honest False faces was not bad. When I first watched it I was like WTF? but as it aged I grew to like it.. minus the anime only changes.

Sentai's localization was horrible though.

It's become my life mission to spread Utawarerumono love as much as possible. If people are talking about Utaware on the internet, I'll be there!

It looks like this game is probably just a retelling of Mask of Deception, although I'm hopeful it'll include some original side stories. spoiler[The very beginning of the opening has an obvious spoiler for the ending of MoD if you're watching for it.]

I was pretty ambivalent on The False Faces when it first came out, but after finishing all of the games I went back and watched it again, and it's hard to enjoy it. Even aside from the changes made to major plot points, it cut out so many of the subtle details that make the character development in Mask of Truth so good, and then it padded things out with tropey comedy... I know there are some people who enjoyed it, and that's great if it's what got them into the series, but I've also talked to people who were turned off from the entire series because of it, so it's hard for me to recommend it.
