I never really looked into Vampire animes until i saw Karin. Then again, when Rosario came out, I was totally amazed by it!!! I'm sure if any guy comes to contact with Rosario, he would either fall for... spoiler[Moka! Cutest Vampire ever... xD turn evil (Yeah she turns evil [true vampire] if a certain "necklace charm" is taken away from her), idk, would you prefer evil or good?, or Kurumi, the cute devil Succubus..., if you dont know what a Succubus is, it's a demonic humanoid that can lure (mainly its a girl so...) men into her(his...?) gaze, and suduce him] Well the Storyline is pretty basic, it doesnt have any leads, except for spoiler[how Tsukune (Main Char dude) as the only human in the School for Demons and other worldly beings, and how he would survive]. So you would have to wait out the time with Tsukune and Moka-chan's relationship, then something would happen...
Well enough chit-chatter about the Anime itself, i just want to hear about what you guys think of Rosario, and seeing if you would think of it a great anime, or a complete phailure (i didn't phrase it as "failure", because with a PH, idk, it sounds much more dramatizing, apologizing if it means any... thing bad) Check it out sometime if you haven't |

It's the kind of series one watches because one has the spare time to. It's not something I'd make time for. The plot and characters are predictable from the get-go, and the structure is fairly standard stuff.
All it has going for it so far is the fanservice. Otherwise this series is plain as it gets. |

Yeah, Moka's a cute character, both in design and personality, but it seems to be a fairly generic series, from the first episode at least.

I've been checking out the new anime this season, and this one really didn't impress me that much. The plot structures for the episodes so far are pretty generic and rather identical to each other. This anime didn't give me much indication that it will be getting any more creative with time either. Overall, this anime is fine for somebody looking for a standard harem with lots of fanservice, but otherwise there is not much to it.

It is your typical harem series (You'd know that by looking at Tsukune
 ) but I don't think it's too bad. I think it's kinda funny (like when Moka bites Tsukune with a "chuuuuuuuu" or when the bat like thing came out and said nothing but "I'm a bat! I'm a bat!" ) and Moka's a likable character. I usually hate pink haired girls because they always turn out to be overly moe (sometimes stupid) but Moka's different - that's probably because she's so cool when she's a vampire

Not only is the plot rather generic (as many have mentioned before) but it's exactly the same as the manga. At least for me, knowing what is going to happen takes out the little enjoyment I might have. Once is enough. At the pace the show is going it won't even reach the more interesting parts where the storyline becomes a little more varied and unpredictable. That is, unless they skip a lot, but that wouldn't be much of a loss.

I think it's bad to compare an animation to another production, Gonzo did a lot on this so no comment on that. Takayuki Inagaki which is the director of the story which did much probably on the animation of course. So, my opinion is, watching Koharu Biyori comparing to these series there are less sympathetic similarities when it comes to atmosphere.

Though I don't really think you can ever call a heavily fanserviced comedy ecchi harem anime a true "success" (name one.), I found it very good in comparison to both other series of the genre, and other series by GONZO. R+V's animation quaity is what surprised me at first, though not amazing, it was still more vibrant, clear, and consistent than many other animes of this genre.
I also personally liked the colorful character designs much more likeable than GONZO's other works (though this may be biased, as I had recently attemped the atrocity that is Dragonaut.) That aside, I still agree with Sharingan in that this is not something I would follow as passionately as Clannad or Shakugan no Shana Second (amazing recent reversal, kudos to J.C. Staff), I would definately watch it if I had free time (which I do, so obviously, I do watch it.) Yes, that is my opinion of this year's Winter Season. Only the continuing fall seasons deserve recognition.

The first episode was horribly generic at best in just about every aspect. I might still give it another chance but there was nothing good, and everything average or poor (the 'fanservice', the utterly generic character designs, Moka's standard personality [brainless bubblehead], the ludicrous, face-palm inducing premise that you have to shut your brain off to swallow].... well, my motivation isn't very high.

Ep 4 was alright, sort of the same as the other three as far as the fights. Not finding anything really that great about the series, though I lead a boring life so this actually has kept my attention quite easily. I mean I have sat through much worse...eh you know on second thought its alright. I say give it another go Hitokiri, if you don't like the second episode, then you might not like the 3rd and 4th. Because they are sort of following the same trend spoiler[ two new characters are introduced and the fights are a bit repetitive, but the bat adding in comentary is always entertaining though]. I mean I watch it for the monsters, so it will keep me watching.

I've watched the first two episodes now and doubt I'll continue. Moka is a highly likable character in her human form, it does look pretty good, and I did find the way they actually justified most of the fan service in ep 2 to be rather amusing (the other girl is a succubus, after all, so her behavior is certainly appropriate), but nearly everything about the series seems too formulaic, too dedicated to fan-pandering, and I can almost feel my brain rot as I watch it. Hearing that eps 3 and 4 follow the same pattern don't encourage me.
Scary thing is, this one may stand a better chance of eventually being licensed than the far, far superior (in writing, anyway) Spice and Wolf. In fact, I'd be a bit surprised if this one doesn't get picked up by someone. |

Tenchi...or one of the many spin offs, movies and OVA's, perhaps the edited English language version, the basically ubiquitous nature of it...how many anime fans don't know at least a bit about Tenchi? Ai Yori Aoshi, while an attempt at serious stuff is there it still works best for me as a comedy, Ah! (or Oh!) My Goddess (maybe not all the traits you listed but definitely a harem comedy with great popularity)...Ranma as well (I've not seen it but what I've heard paints it out as one). |

Saw episode 4 last night and so far, it's the same thing. spoiler[Tsukune and gang get into some sort of trouble with their classmates (usually jealous ones) and such classmates try to beat Tsukune up, but they always fail because Tsukune always "accidentally" removes Moka's rosario which in turn, transforms her into a vampire. She then beats them up and they live happily until the next episode when the same thing happens again ]
I'm still watching it though, for the same reasons as omar235. I also definitely saw worse anime and when I look at it that way, Rosario + Vampire doesn't seem so bad. The characters are also kind of charismatic for me - they're all drawn so well. The music (by Nana Mizuki) isn't bad either. |

i think the commentator bat makes the episodes better, this one (episode 4) i didn't like too much.

Especially considering that this is Gonzo, I thought the character designs were great, and the art and animation none too shabby (not amazing, but not bad.) I mostly continue watching Rosario because I sort of enjoyed Goshusho-sama Ninomiya-kun, though I admit that such heavily fanserviced animes are better as a once a week thing, and not something you'd watch in one 10/11-hour sitting (about 5-6 with this particular series.), like my brother did with Fate/Stay Night. Christ. Who else is also anticipating Rie Kugimiya's character's appearance? all right. |
