They really going all in for these Rebuild movies.

Wonder if the turnout will be like Kny; but that not really important though for comparison sake.

Maybe it's time to rewatch the first three movies. Maybe the whole series plus the original movies.

Not a chance. Demon Slayer has far more mainstream penetration right now than Evangelion ever had, even in its heyday. But agreed, not that important. An Eva movie doesn't have to put up Ghibli or Titanic type numbers to be a big success.
