C1 Deunan Knute (Appleseed) vs. C27 Fisher Tiger (One Piece)
As I posted earlier in the thread I generally love cyberpunk shows from the late 80's and early 90's but I found Deunan to be largely forgettable, while Hikari14 makes some good points for Fisher Tiger.

C2 Kei (Dirty Pair) vs. C24 Batou (Ghost in the Shell)
I don't consider this one much of a contest. I like Dirty Pair but I find it hard to take it as seriously as GitS, and Batou is pretty much unstoppable.

C3 Ozen (Made in Abyss) vs. C26 Kiritsugu Emiya (Fate franchise)
Emiya cannot compete with Ozen's badass aura.

C4 Mikasa Ackerman (Attack on Titan) vs. C21 Ban Mido (Getbackers)
IMHO Mikasa is the biggest baddass in Attack on Titan. Ban is cool and all but I don't think he can hold a candle to her.

C5 Integra Hellsing (Hellsing) vs. C22 All Might (My Hero Academia)
All Might is certainly badass, but he's also a fairly generic hero type character. Integra has a lot more uniqueness and depth to her character, she has an incredible attitude as well.

C6 Vash the Stampede (Trigun) vs. C18 Homura Akemi (Madoka Magica)
I love Trigun and I love Vash, but as I mentioned in earlier voting I think his constantly goofy persona is pretty much the opposite of a badass. He certainly is a badass in many ways...except for acting like one. And given that the main focus of the tournament is attitude and swagger, well, I can't really vote for him. Homura has gone through an amazing amount of shit, she certainly kicks ass in a fight, and all the while she has a swagger all her own. And as I mentioned in earlier voting I think it's worth pointing out again that Homura's physical abilities and combat prowess stem from her having repeated the same events so many times....in other words, she's put in tons of practice, whereas the other girls in the show have outright magical weapons. That also makes her a standout.

C7 Kenpachi Zaraki (Bleach) vs. C12 Izumi Curtis (Fullmetal Alchemist)
Pretty hard decision but I'm giving this to Kenpachi because Izumi is more a motherly sort of character. That costs her this match by a hair IMHO.

C9 Arataka Reigen (Mob Psycho 100) vs. C10 Jin (Samurai Champloo)
Arataka comes across more of a manipulative sociopath to me, that's not very badass.

C15 Nicolas Brown (Gangsta) vs. C16 Jotaro Kujo (Jojo's Bizarre Adventure)
Both characters are tremendously powerful but I have to give this one to Nic because I take his character design (and the show in general) a lot more seriously than I do Jojo's.

Round 2 Bracket C

C1 Deunan Knute (Appleseed) vs. C27 Fisher Tiger (One Piece)
I don't remember Deunan being all that badass, though it's been a while since I watched any of the Appleseed anime. Fisher Tiger, while a relatively minor character, was very badass.

C2 Kei (Dirty Pair) vs. C24 Batou (Ghost in the Shell)
I don't really find Kei to be that badass, and Batou has a more badass look to him.

C3 Ozen (Made in Abyss) vs. C26 Kiritsugu Emiya (Fate franchise)
Ozen seems unstoppable and completely confident in abilities, which is basically the definition of a badass.

C4 Mikasa Ackerman (Attack on Titan) vs. C21 Ban Mido (Getbackers)
Ban is only a badass when he is serious, which isn't most of the time. Mikasa seems more badass in terms of how she normally acts

C5 Integra Hellsing (Hellsing) vs. C22 All Might (My Hero Academia)
All Might's fight with All For One is one of the most badass fights I've seen. Integra never did anything as impressive in my opinion.

C6 Vash the Stampede (Trigun) vs. C18 Homura Akemi (Madoka Magica)
I've not seen the Madoka Magica movies, but I would say Homura was only a little badass in the TV series. Vash acts like a total goofball most of the time, but I still think he is the more badass character.

C7 Kenpachi Zaraki (Bleach) vs. C12 Izumi Curtis (Fullmetal Alchemist)
There might not be all that much to Kenpachi's character, but he certainly is badass, both in his strength and his attitude.

C9 Arataka Reigen (Mob Psycho 100) vs. C10 Jin (Samurai Champloo)
Jin is a good bit more badass in my opinion. Reigen badass moments often seem to come more from ignorance than justified confidence.

C15 Nicolas Brown (Gangsta) vs. C16 Jotaro Kujo (Jojo's Bizarre Adventure)
I haven't seen Gangsta, and Jotaro is extremely badass, so he gets my vote.

Kei has my vote. To me, she’s the female version of ‘swagger’ - hot-headed, tough, determined, impulsive, and dangerous.

C4 Mikasa Ackerman (Attack on Titan) vs. C21 Ban Mido (Getbackers)
Even Ban’s hair says bad-ass. How can you get more bad-ass than a God giving you power? He has the swagger, the looks, the fighting/combat skills, and that Evil Eye. Yikes!

C5 Integra Hellsing (Hellsing) vs. C22 All Might (My Hero Academia)
Integra has a steely resolve and calm, collected personality. She demands perfection of her men and of herself. She is not intimidated and takes her role seriously.

Kenpachi is the first character I think of when it comes to bad-ass. He has bad-assery in spades.

I am giving this one to the man with the sword and the samurai skills that goes with it.

Nicolas is quiet but intense. Generally fierce, he is lethal with his sword and just as deadly in hand-to-hand combat.

Round 2 Bracket C

C1 Deunan Knute (Appleseed) vs. C27 Fisher Tiger (One Piece) - I love Deunan and don't consider her a watered down Major myself. I think she is her equal. That being said I do think Fisher simply had the badass attitude and aura down more than her. He's been one of the surprise contestants (as in my appreciation for them) for me so far this tournament.

C2 Kei (Dirty Pair) vs. C24 Batou (Ghost in the Shell) - I gave this one a lot of thought. I think I undersold Batou a bit having watched more clips from SAC that were more focused on him. Plus the GITS second movie.I think he and Kei are basically about on even terms, even if for slightly different reasons. I think his competency combined with his gruff don't give up badass attitude is what swings him just over her a little bit.

C3 Ozen (Made in Abyss) vs. C26 Kiritsugu Emiya (Fate franchise) - So I went through other votes and I had to reconsider something, and change my vote. I think Ozen has this immense overpoweringly badass aura. She exudes badass swagger and malevolence. Much like Integra in many ways. But how often do we actually SEE it? We see it from Integra in every episode almost. We barely see any of of Ozen. While I think straight up her aura is more badass than Kiritsugu, he on the other hand has other badass factors working for him. We see him in action. We see these other factors, and more importantly their cumulative effect. After thinking about it I can't give the vote to Ozen due to how little we see of her. She is amazing at that one factor, but when you have someone who has several other factors going for them they add up.

C4 Mikasa Ackerman (Attack on Titan) vs. C21 Ban Mido (Getbackers) - I know everyone is more familiar with Mikasa, but I gotta give it to my man Ban. I think within their series they are both equally impressive in combat. They are equally badass in that area. Outside of combat though Ban has the added swagger, confidence, and badass mentality that I think Mikasa does not. So it's for those added non-combat aspects that push Ban over the top for me. Plus the sunglasses lol.

C5 Integra Hellsing (Hellsing) vs. C22 All Might (My Hero Academia) - Integra simply oozes that badass confidence and aura in spades. She's one of the physically weakest people in the series but almost no one talks shit to her. Alucard does HER bidding. When we mention a badass aura and swagger Integra is a queen at it. Unlike with Ozen we get to see this aura many times throughout the show.

C6 Vash the Stampede (Trigun) vs. C18 Homura Akemi (Madoka Magica) - For me this comes down to attributes outside combat once again. As fighters I have them as equal in regards to their competency within their series. Outside though, and even during combat, Homura just has that snarky badass aura to her that Vash doesn't. He SOMETIMES has it, when he gets serious. Homura ALWAYS has it.

C7 Kenpachi Zaraki (Bleach) vs. C12 Izumi Curtis (Fullmetal Alchemist) - Sorry Izumi but you have no chance here. Kenpachi is one of the rare contestants in tihs one that has just epic level swagger, confidence, and attitude both inside and outside of combat. His baddass meter is simply on all the time. He knows no other way to go about things.

C9 Arataka Reigen (Mob Psycho 100) vs. C10 Jin (Samurai Champloo) - I'm sorry but while having no real power per se, Reigen just simply has badass swagger and attitude in spades. I think overall Jin has more of the calm and confidant aura, not quite the badass one. Not to the degree that Reigen does anyways.

C15 Nicolas Brown (Gangsta) vs. C16 Jotaro Kujo (Jojo's Bizarre Adventure) - This is yet another example of outside combat factors making the decision for me. Both are badass in a fight with their shows, but Nicolas just has the swagger

Round 2 Bracket D:
D1 Kamina (Gurren Lagann) vs. D33 Gene Starwind (Outlaw Star)
These characters are incredibly similar IMHO. They're both hotheaded, arrogant, and strive for adventure and greatness. Kamina is fond of saying "who the hell do you think I am" meanwhile Gene is known to remark: "hey hey, you're picking a fight with me? Gene Starwind?" They're both idealistic, have a penchant for leering at the opposite sex, and are are devoted to their friends and comrades. They're even similar in how they interact with their friends: Kamina has Simon while Gene has Jim, both of whom call their mentors "big bro" (aniki). And of course they're both full of attitude and swagger. This was a coin toss for me, it could have gone either way.

D4 Kenshiro (Fist of the North Star) vs. D32 Fuji Yakumo (3x3 Eyes Legend of the Divine Demon)
Sorry Yakumo, Kenshiro is just plain legendary and has you beat in the kick-ass department.

D5 Teresa (Claymore) vs. D28 Joseph Joestar (Jojo's Bizarre Adventure)
Teresa seems more consistently badass to me compared to Joseph.

D6 Harlock (Captain Harlock) vs. D24 Zoro (One Piece)
Zoro is a badass and he's been through a lot, but this contest is about the character's aura and attidude and I think there are few who can match Harlock in that department.

D8 Hisoka (Hunter x Hunter) vs. D22 Yusuke Urameshi (Yu Yu Hakusho)
I don't think Yusuke is all that badass but as I've mentioned before I don't consider Hisoka to be a contender at all because he's too much of a flat-out psycho so Yusuke wins by default.

D9 Takeshi Sendou (Hajime no Ippo) vs. D20 Saito Hajime (Rurouni Kenshin)
Takeshi has more of a "never give up" aura, which while impressive isn't quite as badass as Saito's.

D10 Mugen (Samurai Champloo) vs. D19 Haruke Tenou (Sailor Uranus) (Sailor Moon franchise)
I take Mugen more seriously than I do Sailor Uranus so I'm giving him the win here.

D12 Roberta (Black Lagoon) vs. D16 Chane Laforet (Baccano)
Wow, hard choice here. They're both badass, I could flip a coin here, but I'm giving this to Roberta because I love the "killer maid" character design.

D14 Naomi Armitage (Armitage III) vs. D17 Nanashi (Sword of the Stranger)
I think Nanashi is awesome but I don't think he can compete with Armitage in terms of attitude and swagger. Armitage is not only incredibly tough and powerful in combat, but she's hotheaded, snarky, and full of herself to the Nth degree. She's also not afraid to rock a pretty extreme outfit and it suits her personality perfectly.

Runner's Up Bracket 1B:
A31 Busujima (Psycho Driver) vs. D7 Gennousuke Kouga (Basalisk)
Again, I'm fairly sure he will lose this but I have to give Busujima the vote here. Watch just a few minutes of Psycho Diver and it's established that he's rich, handsome, drives a cool car, can play the piano, is damn good in a fight, has top-tier psychic abilities (even among others in the show's universe), and is a mack daddy with the ladies. And he has so much swagger that it's nearly off-putting. He is essentially the ultimate Renaissance Man or Polymath with an attitude to match. He's not only someone you don't want to mess with, he's also someone who is great at everything he does.

B32 Brandon Heat / Beyond the Grave (Gungrave) vs. B11 Genos (One Punch Man)
I just get more of a badass attitude from Brandon than I do Genos. Yes Genos is extremely powerful but he loses a lot and I don't get that much of a confident vibe from him.

C11 Lind (Oh My Goddess) vs. C29 Rally Vincent (Gunsmith Cats)
Lind is badass in a fight but she doesn't have that cool aura that Rally has.

A22 Isaac Netero (Hunter x Hunter) vs. D2 Jiraiya (Naruto)
This could honestly go either way as they are both fairly similar character archetypes but I'm giving it to Isaac because I think he's got the more badass character design of the two. Jiraiya seems more jolly and kindly, Isaac radiates more a commanding aura.

D31 Isamu Dyson (Macross Plus) vs. B8 Archer(Emiya) (Fate franchise)
See my comments about Isamu in previous matches. Between getting it on with the ladies, standing up for himself in a fight, his dreams for the future, and his skills in the cockpit I think he's a more well-rounded badass than Archer. And he's got the classic fighter jock attitude dialed up to 11.

B18 Leone (Akame ga Kill) vs. D23 Ippo Makunouchi (Hajime no Ippo)
Ippo has grit and determination, yeah. But he's doesn't have all that much beyond that. I think Leone edges him out.

A17 Reiner Braun (Attack on Titan) vs. C14 Lady Eboshi (Princess Mononoke)
Eboshi is a badass for sure, but more on a mental level. Reiner has that mental fortitude as well, but he's also physically tough, skilled in a fight, etc. If you told me I was to get on either of these character's bad side I'd much rather be on Eboshi's than Reiner's.

B29 Gon Freaks (Hunter X Hunter) vs. B14 Shinobu Kocho (Demon Slayer)
As was mentioned earlier Gon is just too pure to be much of a badass. Yes he has his moments where he acts like one but they are fairly rare. Most of the time he's a plucky little kid.
