Looks like this is where we're about to see the fruits of the Sony acquisition fully realized: all Aniplex titles and some previously Funi exclusive titles - like Ranking of Kings and Vanitas - are now available on CR and Worldwide (except for Asia as usual Sad). There are still some exclusives remain - like SasaMiya and Kenja no Deshi - for some reason, I guess it was part of the deal.

Anyway tl;dr this is pretty big and game-changing.

EDIT: I looked it up, those two exclusives I mentioned are Kadokawa titles. RIP Slow Loop then Sad

EDIT2: it looks like some of these titles are available in India as well

Crunchyroll is airing FreakAngels this season? grabs popcorn to see the dumpster fire

Jokes aside, I assume CR only made FreakAngels into a series was because of how big Castlevania was for Netflix. However, CR probably felt buyer's remorse when Warren Ellis was outed as a sex abuser. The studio behind it, Yapiko Animation, also seems dead since their social media (at least their Twitter) hasn't posted in over a year. All of this might be why CR isn't even billing FreakAngels as a top title for this season.

In conclusion: Warren Ellis is a slimy jerk and good luck to Crunchyroll to handle this mess.

Small correction to the article: Case Study of Vanitas premiered in summer 2021, not fall.

So looks like they're pretty much sharing everything again, although I'm curious how this fairs dub-wise.

If all these shared simulcast streaming titles are Aniplex titles, I don't know that we can say them sharing these titles next season is because of the pandemic because Crunchyroll has had a streaming deal with Aniplex for awhile now. Pretty much every season for awhile now Crunchyroll and Funimation have been co-streaming some Aniplex titles so this isn't new.
