I've been blowing through the SNES DKC games since they were released, and I'd glady use Wiimote+Nunchuck controls every single time I did Returns on the Wii - they were incredibly accurate and slamming the ground had a really good feel to it by drumming the controllers.
There was already news mentions that co-op is busted on this new version because of a change in how fast enemies' bodies leave the screen, and until that gets fixed & if the motion controls have been completely removed (I'd assume the Switch gyro isn't going to be as pin-point as the Wiimote, but....) this is a hard pass since the Wii version still seems weirdly-superior.
It's still a very solid DKC game (played solo, unless co-op was fixed), and I say that as someone that finds Diddy's Kong Quest to be one of the best side-scroller games ever made.

I skipped out on a lot of the Wii library specifically because of the motion controls. Genuinely can not stand them a single bit and have zero interest in using them. But I already played the 3DS version of Donkey Kong Country Returns so I don't really feel the need to double dip. I'm glad to see versions of games coming out without motion control requirements, although some games don't work that well as a result.

Sadly the co-op is busted and they somehow made the load times worse than the other two versions of the game, not really worth full price

The fact that there are some technical aspects worse than in the Wii version is embarrassing which should be addressed in a review of the remaster. And Nintendo not crediting the original staff is outright scummy.
