I’m curious how far they'll push the envelope compared to the broadcast version. Anyone know if the studio has done this type of release before?

Relatively speaking, the shows WWWave produces under the Deregula brand have nudity and sexual references, yes, but there's no explicit sex or any kind of genitals shown - it's relatively softcore.
Their AnimeFesta shows, on the other hand...
EDIT: Also worth pointing out that the shows produced the Deregula brand are adaptations of manga published by third-party publishers (Futabasha, Takeshobo, Kodansha, etc.), whilst the AnimeFesta shows are adaptations of works published by WWWave's own in-house imprints.
