I never got to play the original; this is going on my “to buy” list.

The second Tactics remake. The Psp remake already added voice acting and new cutscenes

Whoa, OK!!! This is very interesting, so this will have both the original classic and the enhanced version included in the same package, that's neat. And kudo to Square Enix for including the original classic for retro-gaming Gen Z enthusiasts gamers out there.

Ah, one of the greats. Now we have another script to complain over (seriously guys, War of the Lions' script was overdone). Also a strong voice cast full of FFXIV and Xenoblade 3 veterans. Also gotta love Matsuno putting "This is absolutely political and more relevant than ever." Talk about a guy who got it in the 90s and knows what's up now
Now remaster Vagrant Story, Square!

I'm a little bummed out this seems to be another remaster and not a full-on remake.
The original game, as beloved as it is (including by me!), is almost comically unbalanced - with a halfway decent understanding of how the game works, you can break it over your knee easily by about the halfway point. The PSP version doesn't do much to address this, and this version is saying "gameplay of the original", so...
There's something to be said for a version close to the original being widely available, of course, so I don't mean to deny people of that. Just that I was looking forward to an official shot at rebalancing FFT.

I never got around to playing this but am a big fan of FFTA and Ivalice in general so I definitely will get this. (in the meantime I should finish FFTA and FFTA2 and FF12......whoops)

As a devoted War of the Lions hater, I was glad to hear they're using a new script. From what little I saw it doesn't seem to have anywhere near the "guy who just learned Ye Olde English really wants to flex he can turn a simple line into a paragraph" feel even if it's using a similar wordlist.
PlayStation Original: "Tough. Don't blame us. Blame yourself, or God."
War of the Lions: "Forgive me. Tis your birth and faith that wrong you, not I"
Ivalice Chronicles: "If you feel wronged, blame yourself or the Father."
Much closer to the original which I appreciate.
My only concern is the comment that it's going to change the story and give it a "modern interpretation". Maybe it's just PTSD from FF7 Remake but I really don't want FFT with the edges sanded down and now suddenly we have things like Delita doesn't do anything morally questionable anymore and all the harsh realities of war are suddenly gone and they add in a dance party sequence randomly midway through the game.

The remastering looks a little crusty, but them incorporating the active time lore feature from 16 is a really great addition

I will admit to being disappointed that for all of the talk of having a version closer to the original ps1 experience, they're opting to use the War of the Lions translation over the console version. Sure, the original attempt was clumsy and full of grammatical errors in the manner standard for Square rpgs of the time, but I also felt the bluntness complimented the numbed anger and irreverence of a world populated by world-weary, cynical soldiers.
It's nice to see I'm not the only one who was left cold by the War of the Lions version. It was technically masterful in its own right, but felt so overwritten in its attempt at mimicking 'ye olde' flowery prose that it took me right out the story, and I stalled out on my psp playthrough about a third in.
At least the new version seems impressive enough in its own right, so I'll definitely be going down the 'Enhanced' route, but it would be nice if all three scripts were available for us old timers.

The Ivalice content in FFXIV is probably some of the cooler spots in the MMO - given the amount of effort they had put into it (it should be noted the FFXIV Creative Team is also on this remake), I am hopeful that it will turn out well.

This looks pretty cool! If it's a remaster, at least they're putting some effort into it!

Yeah, using the WOTL script for the "Classic" mode is straight up historical revisionism. The FFT modding community is pretty big so I'm sure it'll be fixed almost instantly, but still.
I'm not a fan of the old timey prose so I hope there's a Japanese audio option for the new version.

Yes, but this will be FULLY voiced. Plus the new UI showing turn order at a glance is a godsend.

All those people who post those fake FFT quotes are going to be very excited to finally play FFT for the first time I hope they enjoy it, it's a great game.

Unfortunately it wasn't that well received by players so it was dropped, according to Matsuno. Bozja ended up having to be conclude in an in-game text file since the plans for any further content were gone.
I did like the lore implications of the Garleans being descended from Goug, Ramza being a Warrior of Light, and the greater reveal that Ultima was from another planet and there's potentially more of her kind out there ready and waiting. And they were also responsible for the whole Pnadaemonium event and corrupting Athena and apparently they're even stronger than the Ancients. . I hope the last one is touched upon more in a future expansion.
