Amazing how long it's taking to even get news on some of these Macross licenses. It's such a mess that I'm absolutely not surprised to see a Frontier manga adaptation get localized before the TV anime or movies... though I am a bit surprised to see it getting localized at all.

Hopefully, the more is DYRL.

The "more" will most likely be 7.

Screw Harmony Gold and their nonsense with Macross. Seeing these Blu-rays coming after finally getting more of the franchise on streaming last year makes me so happy.

I hope this means we'll also get the Macross 7 Trash manga licensed. I just wish a different company besides Udon.

Seems like you're burying the lead a bit with the manga headlining over the BDs lol

Regardless I'm glad to see Delta and Frontier are finally coming out, though not too happy it's going to be Anime Limited again which will probably be another very expensive import.

Isn't that old news? I thought the Frontier and Delta BD release was confirmed months ago (possibly last year?) -- we've just been waiting for details (and are still waiting).

Frontier manga and DVD's for Frontier and Delta? Feels like we're finally in a new age for Macross.

I thought the initial announcement was that Rightstuf was producing the BD sets for Frontier & Delta - this is the first I remember them outwardly stating Anime Limited took them over rather than being released by Rightstuf's new home, Crunchyroll. Really looking forward to what they do for Frontier - would love a nice set that included all TV & Movies in one set.

A few more details from a facebook summary of the panel: apparently the Frontier BRD release is planned for this year!

EDIT: And very curious about what the 3 new chogokins and 2 new Hi-Metals will be, especially since they're releasing this year? That... doesn't sound right. Unless they're meaning re-issues of older models? I know the reissues of the Chogokin Lucifer and Hi-Metal VF-2SS are both due out in September/October.

Anime Limited got Plus.
AnimEigo got II.
RightStuf/Nozomi got Delta, Frontier and 7.

The only one not to get anything was Funimation/Crunchyroll. Given what happened after the fact with Rightstuf/Nozomi makes me wonder if that was intentional given we've not heard anything about Frontier, 7 or Delta until now and seemingly with a different licensor this time around.

I know CR has basically given up on keeping Gundam in print so maybe Big West/Nue doesn't want that to happen to Macross.

EDIT: Spelling corrections.

As mentioned, since the original announcement by Nozomi/Rightstuf, it's been radio silence since they were bought with the release seemingly in limbo.

It's nice to get confirmation since there was always a chance it could have been tied up in contracts or Crunchy could just sit on it or something.

Gotcha'.

It seems strange to me that of those three (or four, if we're counting CR, too) that it's seemingly the company/companies with the most money and resources to throw at any given project are taking the longest to actually release something. I guess CR buying RightStuf could've/would've caused some delays, but surely by all that much?

Well, regardless, I'm very dissatisfied with how Anime Limited's has been handling Zero, and have been chomping at the bit to see what happens with Seven/Frontier/Delta... I'm not gonna be able to relax until we see some store listings posted.

Have there been any official statements on why they stopped printing Gundam discs? There still seems to be a fair amount of demand for them, so it's weird that they're just... completely gone from the market now.

What is wrong with Udon? i just bought their Rose of Versailles translation as it was on clearance as the local book shop (probably because nobody wants 80s shoujo) & it was nice as it included the coloured pages instead of the stardard b&w version.
