Regarding Sword of the Demon Hunter, is this the first case ever where the first half doesn't get enough vote for episodic review, but the second does?

Nope! Yatagarasu was in the same position.

the first season of Demon school Iruma-kun, didn't get weeklies but the next two seasons were popular enough to get them

Pleasantly surprised that Apocalypse Bringer made the cut. It's not an amazing show, but I'm looking forward to the reviews.
Otherwise, doesn't look like too many surprises with the shows picked.

Shocked but very happy to see Sword of the Demon Hunter get picked up, as I thought all throughout last season that it was one of the Spring '25 season's hidden gems. (It was my #3 title for the season, behind only The Apothecary Diaries and Apocalypse Hotel.) Very much look forward to seeing what Andrew has to say about it!
I am also a bit surprised that Ruri Rocks made the cut. It didn't strike me as a series that would have much interesting running commentary, but apparently enough others thought otherwise. OTOH, none of the ones which missed the mark were at all surprising or, beyond possibly Betrothed to My Sister's Ex, significantly disappointing.
All the other ones I considered high-priority made it; I also especially look forward to commentary on Clevatess and Apocalypse Bringer.

I was not aware. Thanks!
I think Demon Hunter's case is more notable considering it is a Hi-Dive show, which (arguably) enjoys less visibility.

I’m surprised The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity made it because it’s not streaming in the US till September.

Same case with Violet Evergarden (CMIIW), of which I assume the review will be using Netflix Asia/Japan version, where it is streamed simultaneously.

Only two series I voted on missed out - Reincarnated as the Seventh Prince and Outcast's Restaurant.
I'm really only disappointed about Seventh Prince. Outcast's Restaurant was a gamble vote because I'm not sure how review worthy it will end up being.

Hmm, I think the only show I voted for that didn't make it was Leviathan. I watched the first two eps and wasn't blown away, so maybe I was voting out of nostalgia for my childhood more than anything else...
As a bona fide Grand Blue Dreaming hater, I'm smugly satisfied to see it didn't make the cut.
And I'm glad The Summer Hikaru Died ended up in such capable hands

Dang, no Tougen Anki. I don't expect it to be anything special but it would've been nice to see it make the cut.

Maybe they'll either use a VPN to watch it early, or they'll wait until it comes to the US to review it.

Leviathan already got a review already, since it's not a weekly show.
