This anime show is going to air as a "sneek peak" on February 27 on Toonami. Then it's going to air as a regular series on March 13th. My question is, does anyone know any info about it? It's based of a manga and it's very popular in Japan. I checked the Encyclopedia, and unless it goes under a different name, It's not there.

Why do the cards look exactly like the YGO cards? Do I smell another card game fad in the brew?

Do these actually become big in Japan, or are they now specially making them for the American market?

Considering the name "Duel Masters" it's a safe bet to say that the show is, ahem, derivative.

Actually, the last I heard (which was months ago when Hasbro picked up the license) the game was beating out Yugioh in Japan.

Anyway, no mater how hard I look I can't find any proof that there really is an anime made for Duel Monsters which leads me to believe this is another Hasbro coproduction (like the recent Transformers and Zoids Fuzor series have been). Since Takara handles everything from the Japanese end that would make even more sence.
