Honestly with the literal zero information about the game since the initial announcement to the point they not even shown anything besides the opening footage (and even that was for studio anniversary event attendants only), I honestly was surprised that they planned to release it this fall initially at all, and delay news was pretty much expected - especially considering recent owners switch for the studio.
Hope they brought at least some new info to show at TGS though, this is where it is revealing the progress would be the best.

Honestly I feel like Mask of Truth is such a perfect end to the franchise as a whole that it feels strange to know they're still making more. I get that a lot of it is stuff about Oshtor's youth, but still...

While it's understandable, there is sure a big problem with how MonoMobi ended the very same way how Mask of Deception did at the time - by giving a definitive "wait for a sequel" type of ending while giving way more questions than the answers, despite being a midquel in already established storyline - so making the new game is literally a necessity just to answer that questions instead of throwing out the story completely.
