The premise sounds similar to that old Kaze Hikaru manga from Taeko Watanabe. I wonder if it's a stealth reboot.

In fact, the 'Caramel Box/caramelbox' theatrical company's play Kaze wo Tsugumono (『風を継ぐ者』)inspired the manga-ka Watanabe Taeko to write and illustrate the 'Kaze Hikaru' manga. Watanabe Taeko has written about it in an article which is included in Volume 1 of Shōgakukan's Flower Comics tankōbon of the 'Kaze Hikaru' manga.
The cast of the 'Kaze Hikaru' drama CDs included actors who belonged to Caramel Box, and Mashiba Azuki, who is a member of Caramel Box, wrote the scripts of the 'Kaze Hikaru' drama CDs. Narui Yutaka and Mashiba Azuki co-wrote and co-directed the 'Caramel Box' theatrical company's play Kaze wo Tsugumono (『風を継ぐ者』). In 2009, at the Sunshine Theatre in Ikebukuro, the 30th début anniversary event for Watanabe Taeko was held, and members of Caramel Box, too, attended the event. As to the phrase from which the title of the manga may be derived, 'Kaze Hikaru' is a 'season word/phrase' in haiku, and roughly speaking it means that in spring a wind seems as if it shined.

So CG Blue Wolves of Mibu?
I feel like the animation style will be a turnoff for a few people. |
