Jokes aside about all the culture in the show the action and story are not bad either, looking forward to season 2.

I had been watching it when it aired, but got busy and never finished it. So I decided to start over and binge S1 in lieu of #2 coming up. And I thought the show was pretty good for what it was. Most ecchi titles I tried watching are a little too on-the-nose or focus too much on the sexiness and I feel it gets its own way, but I think this one actually did pretty well in dividing those elements amongst the action and story.
As a hetero male, I like the occasional ecchi and/or fan service. And compared to something like Beheneko, I feel this was much more nuanced, especially Tenka (the teleporting blondie). I think the way she keeps hitting on Yuuki is very alluring. |

That was an effective episode to get back into things with. A short re-introduction to get reacquainted with the 7th unit, their allies, their abilities and where the last season left off. There was also some fan service that was semi spicy. The second half was interesting in that all the chiefs and the commander were introduced. The latter seems like a real powerhouse while the former are a quirky bunch. I noticed that there is no 4th squad. |

Those that wanted a bit more spice than last week got their wish with several segments that delivered. Shushu is no captain but her ability is real handy when used well: small for stealth and big for action. I like that this season is putting more focus on the other squads. That focus includes Yuuki becoming a tad too popular though. I am having trouble remembering but I think that the second season is a big jump when it comes to animation and fanservice. |

That was probably more fan service in one episode than in the entirety of the first season. Powers wise everyone seems to be getting stronger and Ren is popping up again next week. |

It sure is fun to see a snooty high and mighty commander being forced to play the role of dog (that she likes to push on others) and her not being able to use her overpowered ability to escape from it. Doubt she will be forgiving Yuuki anytime soon though. |

I have to compliment the show on delivering some solid action. The fights between Mira and Kuusetsu were intense and the former is one heck of a captain. I am not sure if I believe she is actually dead though. |
