Have the Switch 2 version, it is pretty good though kind of easier to recommend due to them not charging full price for it since it is very short. Still, do think it does do a good job of bridging the gap between the first game and Nirvana Initiative and is well worth checking out for fans of the series.
Probably the biggest issue with it's just that the new writer lays it on too thick with the series-wide running gags, the Atami joke in particular is just thoroughly beaten into the ground, but besides that the writing feels pretty on point and the new characters slot into the setting well.

The Atami joke felt like it was overdone on purpose to trigger a "so overdone it loops back into being funny" response, and it was mostly in the bonus episodes. I thought the character writing was otherwise very solid and natural. If they hadn't told us Uchikoshi didn't write it, it would've been hard to tell for me. Of course the story as a whole is much simpler than usual and lacks the utterly crazy twists Uchikoshi always employs, the game's timeline placement as an interquel must've been a big factor in this. I do hope they keep the escape rooms in the next main game or retool some of the Somnia as basically escape rooms, they were by fare the most fun gameplay segments in the entire series so far for me and I feel the juxtaposition of regular logic with escape rooms and moon logic with Somnia works well.
