All I can say for the new ones that came of age is this, it's a scary and messed up world that they inherited from their elders. Look for people who are willing to help in shining a light on the ever looming darkness.

To all the new adults: the world may look scary right now, but you have so many people cheering for you and are more than willing to help you. Don’t be scared to ask for help if you need it. Even us older grownups need help from time to time.
I remember when I turned 18, I was most excited to be able to finally vote. My birthday falls a couple days before Election Day.

Japanese used to come of age at 20 years old, but due to a recent change of law, that's now down to 18 years old - though many still celebrate it on their 20th year, particularly those who were already past 18 years when the law was changed
