He accidentally unleashes a genetically-modified wasp, and when it stings him, he's returned to his thirteen-year-old body. The only way to figure out how to reverse things is to get cozy with the daughter of the pharmaceutical group that developed the wasp and take on a dangerous new job: attending middle school.

Air Date & Platform:
April 11, 2026 (Saturday)
Available on: Amazon Prime, Crunchyroll, Netflix

Episode Count / Runtime: Pending

Trailer
----------------------------------

It's getting three different platform releases. I think that's a first I've seen for a brand new anime. As for the series itself, feels like it could be a Sakamoto Days kind of show: borderline absurd, silly, yet action-y, with some slice-of-life-esque qualities amongst the drama.

A fun premiere. I like that despite the mc having been a cliche hardboiled assassin until recently he is in fact not one big cliche and has personality. That goes particularly for him liking homework and learning about new things in class. Due to his youth he had none of that and now he is enjoying himself. Given the teddybear flasher (with an explosive) the show is like Sakamoto Days in how zany it can get. Add some old man jokes and the wasp mystery and it seems like a good time.

Yup, Kill Blue stays on the list. It feels like a Sakamoto Days light with over the top silly action plus a bit of drama and some slice of life comf. I do hope that there won't be any romance though since that would be a bit icky. Great opening too.

Watched Episode 01, last night, and it's a very fun show, so far. I do wonder if his transformation into a teen might affect his personality, in addition to his physical state. Like, because his body is younger, will his body act like a teenage one that goes through puberty and all the emotional baggage that comes with hormones at that age? Should be interesting to see if they address that, combined with his knowledge and experiences as an adult.

I also really like how everyone who knew him as an adult are absolutely not surprised that he turned into a kid and are just treating his new assignment to be "business as usual." It gives the world-building a sense of "chill," and I think it actually opens the story for a lot more writing potential, in terms of comedy, drama, and/or slice of life elements.

So far he still seems like an adult on the personality side of things. That said, given that he is learning all kinds of new things he is actually growing up by being younger again. This week offered multiple example such as cooking/cleaning and setting goals for the future. The bit at the end with Noren took me by surprise, chaos here we come.

I dunno, he doesn't seem to be as stoic as he was as an adult. Like his reactions to things like being tagged as her boyfriend - that's not the sort of response you'd have seen from his adult self. He's generally more easy to embarrass, and more excited about the things that interest him. So while he can still muster his cool and collected self when it's called for, it does seem like being younger is having an effect.

You might be right, though it might also have to do with the way he was raised. If I remember correctly a short section showed that he was trained to be an assassin from a young age. He then became one and never had the chance to be anything else. He is now encountering situations new to him including studying and lots of people to socialize with. It might be that he is only now learning about who he actually is as a person instead of what the assassin lifestyle made him.

That sure was a very Ranma like episode. In fact, it was pretty up there even in terms of the crazy duels/tournaments Ranma often delivers. One has to wonder what pops is up to since the whole plan is just utterly absurd. Up next is likely the arrival of those Unicorns and more Assassins.

It's weird that it's episode 4 and it's still setting up its own premise. There's also the "um what?!!" factor of the whole thing being set in middle school where grown men fight over a 13 year old girl.

Oh Japan... we've been here before. Why?

So, does her dad know that who he is? Ogami was turned young from getting stung by a bee or wasp, and the pen is shaped like one. I thought that the assassin just decided himself that the pen was some proof, and maybe it has the cure in the pen so that Ogami would just go away.

Possibly, but it is more likely that the organization that the father owns is wasp themed (evil vibes ahoy). Plus that the rules of the arrangement were posted before so it is highly likely that pacifier guy was not lying or confused. That still leaves the question of what the purpose is of such an insane arrangement.

I was thinking (not very hard), i.e., my instant hot take was that Daddy is being coerced or held hostage by threats rather than evilly creating this eternal youth venom for the $$. He knows daughter is being targeted, and probably knows who Ogami is. I have also entertained the idea from the start that Noren doesn't just know or have something she doesn't know is significant, but that she is something significant, physically, either like Ogami, or something in her blood or DNA. However I won't be surprised or disappointed if all my speculations are trash. Very Happy

I like that mister super sportsman unicorn arranged the duel simply because he can not stand someone else getting some of the spotlight plus him instinctively feeling that Juzo is not to be taken lightly. It makes for a nice change of pace with someone not being after Noren, he couldn't care less about her in fact.

@Gina I suppose that would make some sense, though the whole arrangement is still nuts.

Kudos to Tenmna, he may be an ass but he is serious about his sport, enough so that he won't bust his leg against a monster like Oogami. Him genuinely apologizing was a nice moment and the confession shortly afterwards was a surprise. Oogami will likely never have a calm day again and Ryou his Thunderclap and Flash I did not expect.

It must suck to be Noren. Getting kidnapped every day is her new normal and that is not even mentioning constantly being surrounded by all kinds of weirdos who want to make her their fiance.

This week said kidnapping included a possibly undead golfer. Oogami turning back into an old man again for a bit was a surprise, him using a bowtie like voice changing device made me chuckle.
