The Summer Hikaru Died and Steel Ball Runs are adult publications and none of these comics are for women. So 16/20 Shounen Jump publications and 1 direct rival by Kodansha are on this list of publications for "adults". The medium remains as niche as ever outside of Japan and is fully monopolized by Jump manga for 12-18-year-old boys. Even SBR started as one but JoJo Parts 6 and 7 simply weren´t popular or relevant enough in their settings.

To be fair, the only US books doing real numbers rn is Absolute Batman and it too is going for the Chainsawman demo. 15+ on the cover, as opposed to the 17+ DC Black Label line, which is overburdened by Batman books. The regular ongoing Batman series is 13+. There are no real differences in content between any of them (Earth Prime and Absolute Universe Batman have already met), outside of edlord shlock like Batman: Damned.

Probably some good material in CSM 20. Just a shame about that lazy, presumptive, Rebuild-esque final chapter…

These sales are exactly why Invincible's creator is adamant that comic books need a pipeline to animation in the same way manga has to anime.

Absolute DC as a whole is doing fairly well, but yes they are. When alternate covers are deliberate homages to manga covers, it's clear who the target audience is. It doesn't help that Nick Dragotta, the artist of Absolute Batman, has been open about wanting an anime adaptation from Trigger.

Invincible's adaption is terrible though and changes so much. And according to this list Invincible didn't rank so it didn't help them much.
