We know a lot of things: the release date, the cast and crew, and what the characters will look like, but I wonder why they still haven't revealed who will be doing the voice acting?

Bruh tell us already who is the new major! no stress!
Most be one of the heaviest passings of the baton in seiyuu history so far.
I don't really count Maaya Sakamoto's portrayal in Arise because that was a whole other thing, though I really like her so I wouldn't mind her taking over full time but it feels more ripe for someone new to inherit the role full time.
Personally I would go with Riho Sugiyama who is brilliant and deserves that big leap forward.

Gotta say, I am loving these character designs.
Weirdly they feel slightly more "retro" to me than the actual, original character designs from 1989.

It is very reminiscent of the original manga designs. Along with a lot of the character silliness from the manga that's never carried over into any of the anime adaptations.
But I don't think the retro vibe is necessarily from the designs. It has a 80's/90's hand-drawn look to it too.

I'm so happy they're also keeping Motoko's bisexuality more overt this time around. There's been implications in past adaptations like GITS SAC but I'm glad this time it's going all out with the yuri elements of the manga.

I bit worried and curious how amazon will handle the dub cast, would they be able to bring back original dub cast or not (worst case scenario Ai or Lesser known studios in south africa)

Sure, but it'll probably just be depicted as fanservice in the end. We both saw the ass shot at the end of the trailer, right?
Also, wasn't Motoko made bisexual purely because the original author didn't want to draw a man's butt?

Fuchikoma doing the Major's famous landing pose is beyond adorable.
Also, seeing this much colour in GitS is honestly refreshing.

After Atsuko Tanaka's passing, I wanna know who's voicing the Major.

I really like how Science Saru is imitating that cartoony '80s style for this new adaptation, it gives some Lupin III and Urusei Yatsura vibes, which I don't know if it'll confuse people who are more familiar with the more serious GitS adaptations and were not aware that the manga had a completely different tone.

In regards to the use if AI I think Amazon has sort of learned their lesson (I hope), but to be fair, those AI dubs were made for old anime productions, none of the new series/movies they acquired used AI, except for some claims that the dubs made at Transperfect South Africa used AI-generated voices for background characters. I myself hope that the Latin American Spanish dub will be made in Mexico, since all of the Ghost in the Shell anime were dubbed there, though I also hope that Motoko's original VA, Gaby Willer, can voice the character again, since she was replaced by Jessica Ortiz in SAC_2045, despite Gaby auditioning for the role again.

This looks so good; really excited for this take on the series.

Hard to say. I don't think they'll go with AI for new shows that Amazon itself licenses, and for some shows they go with full union LA studios, but then for others they farm it out studios that are clearly cutting their teeth in the industry.
My guess is it will land closer to New Panty and Stocking. LA dub that ends up being pretty good, but doesn't retain any of the prior cast. Maybe that's fine since this isn't necessarily a direct relation to prior GITS outings, but there have been enough recurring actors that I certainly have people in mind for who I want to do it.

I don't know why people still seem to think every dub on Amazon is either bad or AI when they've had some pretty solid ones. Even just this season Nippon Sangoku has a pretty good dub that's about as fine as anything else coming out from other streaming apps. Last year also had the excellent Sanda dub but people never want to talk about the times Amazon streaming dubs have been good. Like sure Amazon messed up bad with that AI mess but it's kind of harmful to the marketing of these shows to just presume it's going to be AI or a bad dub before they actually come out as a lot of fans will just hear the assumptions and then not bother to watch what's actually put out and it's also unfair to the human translators and actors who work on these dubs.

That's what the old legend goes: Shirow didn't want to draw man butt. Don't know if it's true but I choose to believe it since it's funny. It's not like the original film/anime didn't have fanservice but I imagine a lot of people are going to be upset when they find out just how fanservice heavy the manga was and hopefully this adaption ends up keeping.

It's because Amazon has tainted its reputation by doing both. Amazon brought any harm to its marketing by doing that when it was completely unnecessary. Even since Sanda, Amazon has still farmed out dubs to places that were not exactly charging for quality.
I'd also say that characterizing Amazon's AI dub debacle as "messing up" is downplaying it since it's not like Amazon was making a mistake there. It didn't miss a placeholder as has been the popular excuse lately. It chose to toss out AI dubs on older shows that it didn't think would be a big deal (including at least one with an existing dub) to see if it worked. The backlash worked this time, but companies are hoping for the day when AI produces results that are good enough to not get noticed. I don't mind if they are now met with skepticism because they need to know that people are aware and care about that. Amazon earned that skepticism. It can also pretty easily mitigate it by doing things like announcing the studio, staff, cast, etc. ahead of time.
