Didn't think Star Fox could top Tomodachi Life but they did it. Hopefully we can get the two GCN Star Fox games on the Switch Online services soon and hopefully a new game.

Konami doing well with sports games. I hope they can port Metal Gear Solid V to Switch 2 one day. Twin Snakes would be another good get but that's such a legal mess I don't think it will happen.

That's actually a decent debut for Star Fox, I'd say Nintendo has positioned the game as a big release, not just a remake. But just for comparison, these are the first week debut numbers and total copies sold for previous Star Fox games in Japan:
- Star Fox (1993) = 113,336 debut, 325,000 total;
- Star Fox 64 = 75,595 debut, 565,222 total;
- Star Fox Adventures = 133,871 debut, 259,067 total;
- Star Fox Assault = 79,786 debut, 195,407 total;
- Star Fox Command = 27,425 debut, 93,973 total;
- Star Fox Zero = 8,175 debut, 95,900 total.
I'm actually kind of impressed that SF64 managed to sell more than half a million copies in Japan, considering the Nintendo 64 wasn't that popular there.

^Yeah and at that point there were really only 2-3 games that fit Japans tastes of games at the time on the system. The N64 really only started shining when late 1997-1998 came around. Sure you had Super Mario 64 and Mario Kart 64 and a few other titles but by that time the PlayStation just had so much to choose from with the competition between devs being fierce (aka on their A game) and their games costing less compared to N64 Paks which cost as much $70 USD at times. Hopefully this is a good sign for the Star Fox IP.

I mean it's 3 months old at this point.. but something tells me Tomodachi Life is going to have longer legs and surpass Star Fox's weekly sales either next week or the week after.
