I know its inevitable because this is a romcom, but I would really prefer if they remained platonic friend. Ultimately, they don't really have any special reason to be together other than they spend time together due to living close to each others and being in the same friend circle. Azuma preference are also about as removed from Taira as possible, it can be understood that she goes for certain guy because they're easy to approach, but isn't that a perfectly legitimate reason to like someone? Should she really ignore her preference and go for the opposite because it didn't work out before?
Plus its more interesting if not every character that has some screen time in the show end up as a couple (or at least couple with another prominent character). It feel like for every platonic friend there's millions of couple in anime, a little diversity of featured relationship would do wonder.

I actually wound up blitzing through the manga last weekend. I expect this second season to fully wrap everything up, though I'm hoping the anime may change some things on that particular note: (minor spoilers) there's really not much progression with any of the relationships, and the ending feels a bit abrupt as a result. Especially with Azuma and Taira..
