Seeing as how people seem to have this, does anyone know if there are pictures of the box up anywhere on the net? I mean pictures of the actual box, and not just the art that all the sites are using. I'm curious as to what the box itself looks like...

Aww, no Pizza Hut logos in the DVD version either? Why'd you even license this Bandai, you're just giving the fansub elitists ammo. Sad

The problems seem to vary from person to person (or perhaps player to player) so the exact problem spots vary wildly. You'll have to watch the whole thing to figure out if your copy has problems.

Yeah, last night I read through most of the thread at AOD and it looked like it didn't matter what volume or episode, people are having problems at random points (this alone I think answers the question of authoring vs replicator, if it were in the authoring all the disks would have the issue in the same spots, but I think the current argument is on the lack of Pizza Hut so I guess I'd be late on the topic). I got mine to play and start every chapter on my PS3, in just skipping through, but I won't have time to watch them completely until probably Saturday. I really hope I don't have any issues with them. It seems those with problems are in the minority so I'll keep my fingers crossed while watching.

I just got the LE set yesterday. The first dvd played on my dvd player with no problems and testing it on the ps3 tonight. the second dvd has 2 or 3 pauses on the last two episodes.

Yep, same here. My LE set came in last week and I had a friend test the DVDs.* He reported to me that the first DVD played fine in his PS3, but the second DVD (particularly in episodes seven and eight) had pauses and skipped scenes. Grr.

*I rarely watch my anime as soon as I get it. It's a good thing I have a good friend that likes anime. Code Geass is his favorite show so I didn't have to twist his arm.

Call to Pizza Hut Japan: "Hi, this is Sunrise, the animation studio- can we use your logo in our new show?" "Sunrise? You mean the guys who make Gundam? Yes, please, go right ahead!"

Call to Pizza Hut USA: "Hi, this is Bandai, the anime company- can we leave in your logos in our newest liscense?" "Who? Anime? You mean that Japanese cartoon porn stuff? No way!"

Obviously, that's an exaggeration, but it's safe to assume Bandai USA has neither the publishing power or the pocketbooks to work out that liscensing deal. (personally tho', Id've rather seen some touch-up work... red becomes blue, add a line to the 'u'- boom! Pizza Hat. That's just me though.)

I'm glad I held out on buying the DVDs. Not only are these glitches very discerning, but the editing as well. Not that I actually care for the Pizza Hut product placement crap in the least bit (that, along with the fanservice are the only detractors from a Masterpiece rating), but the fact that the Japanese have also released this on Blu-ray have me doubly withholding from purchasing this (as well as the eventual Gundam 00).

I doubt Bandai R1 will ever put this on Blu-ray, completely uncut, and within a reasonable amount of time, but that's the way things are, which is too bad.

I'd like to see that too; it's better than removing it all together.

I'm holding off of this release for obvious reasons. Too bad, though. It was shaping up to be a great release.

Do they have any plans for a replacement exchange program for the discs?

I haven't tried out my DVDs yet (probably should) but my copy of the manga that came with it had a misprinting (about 20 pages got printed twice so I'm missing half of a chapter) so I've already contacted Bandai asking for an exchange.
Just to check, for most people who have had issues with the DVDs, the pauses are just that, a little pause and then it keeps playing? Or is it actually skipping scenes and such?

From what I've heard on other forums, it mostly pauses or freezes up.
The news of the glitches really upsets me, I was looking forward to buying the LE. This seems like it's going to hurt Bandai too, considering that so manny copies were messed up on their first realease.

Saw them... Not a whole lotta help...

Besides. I e-mailed Bandai like Tuesday, the night I got them...

I was just wondering if they said anything formal about it.

Wow...with all of these problems right now, it makes me glad that I'm holding off on buying the LE set for awhile. >.> Hopefully once I have the money to buy it the problems are fixed.

Have you contacted the folks you bought it from? It'd probably be faster to try the retailer route than the publisher route.

This is from someone reporting directly from Otakon today:

Quote:
12:07:05 <bay> q: asked about code geass le issues...
12:07:29 <bay> a: contact them .. they are looking into it still.. they hear the issues are somewhat limited...

Apparently, nearly every single copy of the product being defective is a "somewhat limited" problem. Rolling Eyes
