I've noticed that the network has been pretty smart about editing for time. Mostly cutting out small shots like when spoiler[Nia drops her cell phone when the anti-spirals take over her, or when Simon notices she's still wearing her engagement ring just before she disappears. ] Some are more detrimental than others, but overall it doesn't detract too much from the show.
Now this is where things really start getting crazy. Has anyone noticed how their enemies just keep increasing in scale? First the gunmen, then Viral, then the four generals and their titanic machines, and finally the city of Teppelin itself and the Spiral King? Well it's not over yet. Not by a long shot, no sir. |

I missed the last two weeks due to personal stupidity. I must say, it was rather easy to get back into things, despite the unexpected tone shift.
That said, I liked Rosseau better when he wasn't ambiguously evil. |

This is easily becoming a new favorite of mine. I love everything about this show. There's not a dull moment to be had.

For those who didn't notice (myself included, which means the new VA is doing a good job since I usually pick up on voice changes), older Nia has a new VA: Bridget Hoffman. Younger Nia was voiced by Hynden Walch.
As far as I know, Yuri Lowenthal is still Simon (still sounds like him, anyway), even though Tony Oliver voiced him in the "epilogue" at the beginning of the series. Everyone else's dub VA is the same. |

Speaking of Nia, I hope everyone is in agreement that she grew up fiiiiiiine.

Yea, that's definitely still Yuri Lowenthal voicing Simon which is good. Can't wait till we get to the good parts with Viral. |

Yes, I like the unique style. It has an interesting art style too. Has too many shonen elements though. Great action and fights. Great if you like shonen. Don't know if I will watch more. |

What do you mean by "too many shonen elements?" If you think there's too much action then you're missing the entire point of the show. |

Episodes 19 and 20 premiered tonight. With what we see, seems spoiler[Rossiu's leadership is faltering with how he's under pressure with decision making. And the return of Yoko took me by surprise at the end of episode 20.]
Unfortunately, it seems the series will be on hiatus next week to another movie from Manga Entertainment's crappy backlog in the form of Straitjacket. |

For anyone who's interested, here's the second ending theme that Sci-Fi skips over in the broadcast. It's one of the few I regularly go back and watch repeatedly.
Sucks that it'll be postponed next week. Some of the best episodes are coming up! |

@ Gurren Lagann: I LOVE this show.
@ Psychic Wars: lol, that was bad. Even accounting for SCI FI's cuts for time, the storytelling was just so poor. |

Gurren Lagaan has been one of the best anime shows on TV this year, once the bi-lingual DVD sets are out I could see myself buying this one.

@Gurren Lagann: Oh man oh man oh man, if you've never seen this show you cannot understand my love for it. This is the kind of stuff that rekindles a love for anime and animation and storytelling and all the wonderful things of the world.
@Dead Leaves: Haha, that was like the epitome of vulgar schoolyard jokes. And I'm assuming it wasn't supposed to make any sense story-wise, right? Yeah, that was a trip. And please, don't try to act out anything from Dead Leaves in real life. >.> Oh man! >< That's right! The director of Dead Leaves, Imaishi Hiroyuki, is also the director of Gurren Lagann! Haha, the drill in Dead Leaves! Hahahahahahahahaha! Oooh man, I'm glad Gurren Lagann isn't vulgar like Dead Leaves, though. >.> And yeah, Gurren Lagann is about one hundred million trillion billion fillion million pillion babillion INFINITY EXTRA SUPER SPICY SPECIAL SAUCE I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU THINK BECAUSE I'M RIGHT better than Dead Leaves! But man, this Imaishi Hiroyuki, what a guy... |
