I was browsing through the same online store I buy all my anime from, and I just now noticed there is a Kite director's cut.
It was in the adult section, and I was just wondering what they could have possibly left out that's not already in the original version. So is there anything dramatically different between the two, or something subtle? Greatly appreciate any help here, thanks Wink

a whole lot was cut out of the domestic version. as i've said before, KITE is quite possibly the most action packed hentai movie ever made.

OK , to be honest with you there is crazy hentai and rape. Very serious stuff and not to be viewed by folks under 18. OK

There are a couple of key moments I felt that were important, besides the hentai scenes... I would have done some of the edits differently in order to convey just how low it was without the spoiler[excessively graphic sex], but that's the way it goes.

I can't watch the uncut without cringing many many times. >.< I prefer the cut version, but they did leave out a couple things when editing that had to do more with the story instead of graphic sex.

But wasn't the Directors Cut actually a heavier cut than the regular domestic version? I've also heard that the only truely uncut version of the show is only available in Germany (both of these come from a guy I know who's a huge A Kite fan along with a lot of severly brutal live action stuff).

That is true, I tried to get a hold of it (the german version) once but I think that it is out of print or something.

The director's cut was less edited than the original media blasters release. IIRC, the director's cut version is missing all of 15 seconds worth that might constitute being child pornography. As far as that 15 seconds worth, I've seen it in full, unedited and uncensored. (with English subs no less.) It's one of the rare things I've gotten ahold of as a video file, and since it does have the U.S. distro credits on there as well, I'd say that this version is because somebody on the inside decided to distribute the complete version before they did the editing job. (I do own the director's cut as well, so it's not like I'm trying to bootleg or steal from the original owners. Smile )

I have seen the Media blasters Director's cut as well And there is stuff which i have'nt seen from the previous US version.
The only thing i found objectionable was the statutory rape thing. (which is in quite a few Hentai OVAs) But the intrige-plot device, art and gunfight scenes were cool.

THe animation looks simular to Kimera and probably Gatchaman 94.

That's why I thought it was interesting that the P2P version I did DL had the extra 15 seconds with the statutory rape scene left intact and was still uncensored and english subbed. So that would take it beyond the directors cut.

Anyway, the differences should be obvious in the end. The DC version is definetly different than the Media Blasters version.

You know, I'm kinda surprised that they did cut the rape scene out, or haven't done a new version with it in. Didn't a law just get passed only a few years ago that allows, how did they put it, "Virtual child pornography" which had basicly said something along the lines of as long as it's not a real child it's ok?
