With 80 episodes, it is currently the longest anime based off of a dating sim. Apparently, porno games are popular enough to warrant that length.

I hope it's DC and not DCII.

I stopped watching Da Capo a few episodes into Second Season, which I really didn't like. I haven't bothered with DCII or the second season for that.

The first series was pretty good, though.

If you wanted to give the anime franchise a second look and liked the original, I might recommend trying D.C. II S.S., which is the "canon" two-generations-later continuation tied to the original D.C. anime. It focuses on issues related to the sakura tree and to Sakura herself; you can watch it without having watched either D.C.S.S. or the original D.C. II anime. No guarantees that you'll like it of course, but I noticed that most D.C. fans who did stick around generally liked it. (In general terms, it was what most game players wanted them to animate as well.)

Anyway, looking forward to hearing more about the new anime, and the new D.C. III and D.C. Zero games.

Da Capo is awesome. Nice to see more Da Capo especially since there haven't been many good series lately. I wonder what time period will this series take place. More of the Shirakawa family please?

Your point? With over 2,000 episodes, Sazae-san is currently the longest anime based off a manga. Apparently comic books are popular enough to warrant that length.

Zalis, my point is that most eroge-derived anime are 12, 13-, 14, 24-, 25-, 26-, or 39 episodes. This one apparently was respected enough to warrant 3 freaking seasons.

Not to mention it's not entirely fair to call a game like Da Capo a 'porno game' as from what I understand, it's very story driven. It's first and foremost a romance, albiet a romance with graphic sex.
To me, something is only pornographic if it contains no honest attempts at story, plot, or character development, and focuses primarily on the sex.

4 freaking seasons, even though one of them was not based on a game.

Da Capo is popular, but all the respect it might had has been destroyed by the zillion fandisks.

It's not that wrong to call Da Capo (PC games) pornographic, but I feel sorry for everyone who makes the mistake of playing it for the sex.

I should've said 4 freaking seasons or 3 freaking TV seasons. Kanon sold 300,000 game units and only got 2 TV series. I don't know if the Da Capo sold that many though. Shouldn't the one with more units sold get the most adaptations if it is deemed worthwhile?

I think the reason that Da Capo has so many adaptations is because it is Circus' prominent franchise. It's only natural that they are trying to gain more profit.
