Makes you wonder why they haven't commissioned an anime spin-off.

I might be the only one, but the first thing I thought when I saw the first image was deviantart.com.

It's very much his style. The ones with Pegasus work better. They're brighter than the ones we got-less grimy/gritty worldview

Seriously. In that first pick the perspective is even screwed up. It looks like something you'd find on bootleg merchandise in China Town.

Looks sort of like Before and After shots for miracle hair growth tonic.

He's following the first Saint Seiya's art style, so it's no wonder it doesn't look all that good for those who haven't seen the original Saint Seiya.

This looks like west vs east, only each side being to the absolute extreme in stereotypes.

I may be no expert and I'm not that knowledgeable on Saint Seya... but those posters don't look all that impressive. >.<; I was expecting something more grandiose.

Well, it's obvious that Kurumada could only go off of the posters that were made... And those posters aren't exactly anything grandiose. Also, it's obvious that Kurumada's style might not neccessarily mix in perfectly with the style of the movie. Titans and Seiya might both use Greek mythology, but they are still very different in execution in the end.

For the sake of promotion the pictures work, but it's kind of obvious that Kurumada was restricted a good bit in what exactly he could draw for these pictures. They look good, but they aren't some of Kurumada's best work. Also, Kurumada's blog has his pictures with all of the promotional messaging that the Hollywood posters have... And, oddly enough, having that promotional messaging make the pictures work better.

Am I the only one that thinks that the heads on the Kurumada posters are a bit distorted?

I was looking forward to the posters as well, but now I see Kurumada hasn't exactly gotten the hand of cg-coloring. Deviantart indeed.

I agree, they look much better with the text on them. I do agree the work has some wonky-ness to them but that is a pretty typical style for the time period Saint Seiya originally came out.
