I think the keywords should be "filler," "unnecessary," and "nonsense." Those should all be attached to this waste of time lol.

The only 'keyword' that is a decent fit out of the three you suggested is "unnecessary". It can't be "Filler" if it's an HD update/retelling of a canon arc. Especially considering it's not supposed to hinder, in any way, the showing of the next episode. It can't be "nonsense" for more or less the same reason. It's more so in line with Movie 8/Episode of Alabasta. Only difference being that it's not being billed as a movie and instead just a TV special. And if it's such a waste of time, you can just ignore it instead of whining and complaining about it all the time you know? |

I for one, I'm happy they are doing this.
Only recently I've started reading OP and the Nami-Arlong arc was the emotional peak of the series so far, but the original eps are so old that I wouldn't mind a remake exclusively for this arc. Well, guess what? Wish granted, lol. But I could understand longtime fans of the series wanting something new instead of a HD re-cap. |

I still think it's awesome they are starting to remake old story arcs in 16:89 and HD!
