Wow! You summarized my feelings about that series perfectly! If they'd actually changed the story more (ala my beloved Gankutsuou), it would've been way better.

But they really made Katsuhiro the main character in the manga? One of the things I actually liked about the anime series was that it had an interesting female lead.
