Saw this film last night in Edinburgh as part of the Scotland Loves Anime festival. Because it'd already aired in London last week, it was ineligible for that particular festival's award. If it had been, I have no doubt it would have taken that home as well. It is without doubt one of the best animated films I have ever seen, on par with if not better than most of Ghibli's best efforts. Great plot, heart warming and emotionally dynamic story, amazing art and animation, and a brilliant soundtrack (and sound design) to underpin it all! Oh, and very cute (in a tasteful, non-stereotypically anime way) and extremely funny at points

GRRRRRRRR!!! I want to see this film so badly!! I'm so jealous!
Well, if you say it's good then I'll take your word for it. That is until later criticism comes in. But nonetheless, I've pretty much enjoyed everything he's done even with any small burps it may have. I really want to see this one. Please, GKIDs can you get a screening for next year!
