There are about 3 or 4 places in Toronto for anime. I'll list my regular digs along with what I think:

The Beguiling--Indie-friendly comic store. Carries some anime, mostly of the pre-2007 variety, although they've been cutting back in recent months. Prices are about average for what you would find of anime in Canada.

1 Million Comix--Biggest selection of anime in downtown Toronto IMO. They can be a little thin with some of the "popular" titles like Gurren Lagann and One Piece, which sell out rapidly. Their prices are about average to slightly above SRP, but I'm a member so you won't pay tax all year long. Since you're just visiting, you'll likely not find much about the prices that will excite you.

The Silver Snail--Popular downtown mainstream comic shop. Absolutely HORRIBLE anime selection, and it feels like they haven't got anything new in eons. Their prices aren't great either.

Hairy Tarantula--Easy-to-miss comic shop in downtown that stocks a huge selection of collections and boxsets. However, I find they are the priciest of all the shops I go to. Expect to spend an arm and a leg there, unless you're buying singles of which they have many in the discount bins.

Anime XTreme--At the heart of Chinatown, this store stocks a number of LEGAL anime. Very Happy Not a great selection, but their prices are average/

There is also some used anime you can find in stores such as BMV Books. I find they stock a decent selection of used anime here and there, but don't expect many completed collections.

Other than that, there is HMV and other mainstream chain stores, but anime is horribly overpriced in those stores.
