Well i dont think i could watch it because I saw a bit of Mezzo Forte and the had some spoiler[graphic rape sceans ](I recommend you read the spoiler) that bothered me. and Mezzo looks like a part 2 of that except cleaner, but it would still bother me cause of the first one.

Well, I wouldn't say they were graphic rape scenes, they was rape, but it wasnt that bad....(there's alot worse out thar) |

Well I like to keep hentai and anime seperate and I hate seeing girls raped like that especially if thats not the main focus it really bothers me but I have seen much worse. spoiler[That guy from Kite the fat one that rapes that girl with the tape over her mouth I still cant get over that. ]

Ironically, the director of Kite is the same guy who directed Mezzo. However, there are two Mezzos: Mezzo Forte and Mezzo: DSA. Mezzo Forte is a short OVA that has sex scenes in the uncut version and Mezzo:DSA is a short TV series that is cleaner. However, I haven't seen DSA yet but this is based on what I have read. |

I think this guy's talking about Mezzo DSA. ADV came out with a thinpak for it somewhat recently. You can watch Mezzo DSA without seeing Mezzo Forte, there are a few scenes that refer to the events that happened in Mezzo Forte but I still wouldn't call it required. That being said Mezzo is just a fun anime. It's episodic so don't expect to get any kind of deep story from it. I'd recommend it if you're looking for something with a good mix of action and comedy. Despite the cover of the anime focusing on Mikura's butt, Mezzo doesn't have that much fan service in it. Unlike Mezzo Forte, Mezzo DSA doesn't have any hentai scenes in it either.

Very nice description, PantsGoblin.  I agree. Mezzo DSA is a very fun show that sometimes borders ecchi but never really focuses on it. It's more about spywork and character interaction and fun fights and explosions. I'm usually not drawn to that type of show, but Mezzo is so fun and Mikura's such a great character that I love this one. Mikura was my first ANN avatar. 
Also, there is a clean version of Mezzo Forte available, which I highly recommend (although the sex scenes in the hentai version never really bothered me). Like PantsGoblin said, there are a few references to Mezzo Forte in the TV show, but it's not really all that important. (I saw Mezzo DSA before I saw Mezzo Forte.) Still, if you find yourself enjoying the TV show, the OVA is definitely worth getting for the great animation and high production values. |

Mezzo DSA TV? or Mezzo Forte OVA? Mind you, you would need to watch Mezzo Forte in order to get the full details on 2 of the episodes of Mezzo. I did not like the OVA. My biggest complaint was the Sex Scene that did absolutely NOTHING to the over all plot. However I did find the TV series a quite entertaining. |

Like Cloe said, there's also a version without the sex scenes in it. If you were to exclude the sex scenes in it, how would you rate it? (They didn't bother me either though and personally I found it really funny to see "Pops" get it on with Mikura (I actually watched Mezzo DSA first, so I already knew him)) |

Interestingly enough, the director had not originally intended the sex scene to be in there in the first place. Yasuomi Umetsu, who also did Kite, was pretty much contractually required by one of the studios producing both OVAs (Green Bunny I suspect, seeing as they mainly produce hentai titles) to have sex scenes placed into both Mezzo Forte and Kite. Hence the reason they seem so gratuitous and out of place. |

Like Kite I could understand why we had the sex in there as it just show up how ****ed up Sawa situation really was. It added to the story. As for Mezzo Forte, it was nothing more than a some Value Added Fan Service, and it about it. |

Please actually read my posts before commenting on them. As I just said, one or more of the companies that agreed to produce both OVAs did primarily produce hentai titles. Seeing as these likely weren't very high profile properties to begin with, Umetsu probably had to make do with whatever support he could get to make these things, and thus likely had to conform to whatever standards the people he was getting funded by imposed, otherwise they could just as easily refuse to produce the projects entirely and thus they'd never get made. |
