Is Yotsuba&! coming out or what?
I don't care who brings it over here, (As long as it's not like the manga equivelent of 4kids or something) or when (As long as it's within 6 years from now, I just don't want to be left hanging like that. Sorry if there's a thread like this, I'm new here. Don't be fooled, I love Kiyohiko Azuma's works, just like some of you guys/gals, and if weren't for Yotsuba&! volume 1 at a school book fair, I never would have found out about Azumanga Daioh. |

According to the ANN Encyclopedia, as far as I can tell, nothing so far.
manga#2966 Of course, others on this forum have other sources, so maybe someone else might know. Good Luck! |

Since you can't comfirm it, is it at least leaning toward one of the two scenarios?

A us manga company will license a series and they will recieve whatever material that was available at the time. So as volume are being release in the state, new material are still being release in japan. These new release aren't sent to the us company right away. Chances are that the u.s. company haven't request the latest volume being release in japan yet and that can be due to many reason. Another reason is that company might wait a while until 2 or 3 volume is available before they recieve more and release more. Of course this this is just what i read a while back from a feature/Q&A at a con and seem most logical. Yotsuba is one of the few volume that sold well for ADV. I would assume adv is waiting for more volume to be release while they're focusing on other title to help rebuild their manga line. It suck, but this is what happen when series catches up to release in japan. I've been waiting forever to get Vagabond 21 (release in June 2006) and it finally get a release date after more than a year. (Last volume was release back in March 2005.). But by then, Viz would have volume 22 and probably 23 ready to go as well. Yotsuba volume 4 was release back in august of 2005. No new volume has yet release but the series is still ongoing. Since the series is not that story driven, just move onto another series in the meantime.

Actually, Volume 5 was just released last week. Anyway, what would make more sense (at least to me) is if the companies just reverted to the Japanese schedule once they caught up to the last released volume (or as close as they want to get). For example, with Yotsubato there were 9 months between JP Vol. 3 and JP Vol. 4, so the english release should also have nine months inbetween volumes (which would put Yotsubato Vol. 4 out in July). That way they would never catch up and the releases would be equal to the speed of the Japanese release. At least that way we would have an estimate of when to expect the next volume instead of being caught in limbo. |

Not a fan of Yotsubato, but I love that volume 5 cover.

"Right" huh... Okay it's simple, the Japanese release has 5 volumes and the series is still continuing in Dengeki Daioh on a monthly basis. This is what darkhunter was referring to when he said "the series is still ongoing." ADV has released 3 volumes, the last of which was in October 2005. There has been no notice of Volume 4 for an english release to this point. Where you got confused is with my example. I didn't say it would be out in July. |

Yes, what you said was an estimate. What I thought you said, was that the series was still going on in the U.S.
So let's follow the title: Is Yotusba&! still running in the USA? If it is on a "hold" of some sort, what do you think will happen? EDIT: Someone reply. |
