I haven't been, myself, because they're old news to those of us keeping up with Naruto on Saturdays, but I happened to tune in for the last half of last night's episode, and I now have three questions.

---MINOR SPOILERS FOR THOSE WHO AREN'T WATCHING SATURDAY NARUTO.---

I was surprised to notice that the show is less edited, if edited at all. This is really surprising because CN (and dubbers) are not known for re-editing a show that's already on TV. It's too much work for too little pay-off. Yet, this was the episode where Kakashi's group is escorting the bridge builder, and the two ninja attack them. I distinctly remember Naruto getting hurt, but them not showing the wound. This time, they did.

1. Is it my imagination, or is Naruto less edited? If it is less edited, Why? Does it have anything to do with being on an hour later, and on a school night?

2. I tuned in to the part after Kakashi is "killed" and Sasuke is about to kick some ninja butt, so I missed some of their attack and I still haven't seen exactly how Naruto gets hurt. Was it before Sasuke leaps into action? When do they get close enough to Naruto to scratch his hand?

3. Naruto does his hand stabbing thing after the fight, and Kakashi says, "It's really cool how you removed the poison with the kunai and all, but if you lose any more blood, you're gonna die." How is what he did supposed to remove any poison from his wound?

Uh, the show is EXACTLY the same as it is on Toonami. There are no extra edits or removed edits. If you don't remember seeing something, that's your own fault. They didn't re-edit anything.

Well, I did only see that ep. once a while ago, so maybe I'm imagining things.

Okay, that's question 1, what about #2 and #3?

It's been awhile since I've seen that episode, but as I recall, the two attacking ninja came up *poof* fast on Naruto and he froze up. Kakashi didn't forsee that, so he didn't step in and prevent Naruto's injury. I think this is when Sasuke steps up and attacks (after they injure Naruto), calling him a scaredy cat in the process.

As for the injury itself, the explanation given is that by stabbing himself with the kunai on the entrance site, the poison will ooze out of the body with the blood and thus prevent/stop the spreading.

Hmm, that's interesting, I doubt doctors will recommend that technique!

This has been brought up before, I can't find the thread though it was a while back. Photo evidence was used in that thread though. It appears that some blood was left in when it reaired in some of the earlier episodes. For instance in one picture it showed blood dripping off of a knife(I forget what you call em), and then in another it showed it with no blood, and then in th reair it showed it with blood, but not as much as the original.

I forget what the conclusion was in that thread, but you are not the first to notice. So no its not your imagination.

Thanks for mentioning a previous thread, Dargonxtc, here it is: animenewsnetwork.com/bbs/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=25756

And thanks for making me think I was crazy, God Gundam Smile

Someone mentioned a rumor that they're showing the YTV version on weeknights, which has less edits. I don't know if anyone ever got to the bottom of that. It sounds... unlikely, but the whole situation is bizarre for those of us who are familiar with how editing on CN normally works.
