Ghost in the Shell: Arise - Border:1 Ghost Pain

First promotional poster;

Saw it earlier today.

The movie runs over 50 minutes but was brilliant imo. spoiler[The OP song was smooth and the action was great. Loved some of the action. The animation felt a little different but it was intense. Major sure kicked some booty. There were those little machines running about and causing damage in the movie. However, Major sure can handle a lot of things on her own with her kicks and guns. The fan service was more than I expected but was tolerable. She also seems to struggle in combat later on in the film when she was chocked in mid-air. ]

Ah, this movie sure bought back some nostologia. Next movie debuts later this year in November and I can't wait for that either.

I know what I'll be doing for 50 minutes twice every year for the next 2 years...now to figure out what to do with the rest of the time.

I just saw border 1 and 2 tonight, via FUNimation's Tugg screening, and all I can say is "wow".

Those were amazing. Although, I must admit, I felt a little cheated that it wasn't in 3D. Some of those sequences looked amazing and like they were meant to be in 3D.

The different voice cast from what I'm used to, for the most part, I felt worked really well. The only one I didn't like was Sakamoto as Kusanagi, but I feel it was more likely the fault of the director. It felt like she was trying too hard to get the same "feel" as Atsuko Tanaka, but her voice just doesn't convey that same "toughness" that Tanaka's does. I think the character and actress would have been better served if they had've gone for a more natural feel to Sakamoto's voice.

Agreed; definitely a difference seeing it in a theatre. Can't wait to see the final two installments over the next year.
