The Karutas remind me of some of the Wanzers from Front Mission Alternative. Arm the thing and we can say that Japan has real life Wanzers.

Aaaah aaaah I stood right next to this, thought it was an elaborate prop (since they had other character statues all over the place) but then a woman climbed in and it started MOVING! The atmosphere was truly electric.

I imagine being one of the staffers trying to safeguard the robot from vandalism and potential damage can shorten one's life span.

Assuming certain countries haven't laid waste to the earth with a nuclear war before that.
