It will be a fun week for me. Four of my pre-orders are out, Slam Dunk, Michiko and Hatchin, The Ancient Magus' Bride, and Love Stage. Woo hoo!

It is looking like Slam Dunk is dub-only according to what I'm reading on Twitter. Hope that Cinedigm responds to this soon since the TRSI listing said "Hyb".

Emma is being released by Yen Press not Udon.

This release isn't the Emma by Kaoru Mori, which is being released by Yen Press. This is a manga adaptation of the novel "Emma" by Jane Austen as part of Udon's "Manga Classics" label. It's this: http://www.rightstuf.com/cgi-bin/catalogmgr/nrfsNdYz8ayFISEm0d/browse/item/103756/4/0/0 Though going by the date on there, it's been delayed and isn't coming out this week. |

Heh... I had the same reaction that KamikazeJawa had (with the additional thought about not remembering Yen's Emma's release date ever changing, since Yen's Emma is being released next week, on the 19th). I'd forgotten about Udon's eventual release of the other Emma. Oh well. ^_^ |

Wow, Slam Dunk is getting a DVD release here again?? I hope they finish it this time. The old Toei discs looked great! I have all four volumes they released.

Excited that 2 of my pre-orders, Evergreen 1 and Ancient Magus' Bride 1, are now out. The wait for them to arrive, begins...

Before you look into buying Slam Dunk there have been complaints on Twitter about the lack of a Japanese audio track and subtitles. The set was advertised as being bilingual, but those screenshots have shown otherwise.

I wanted to check out the Slam Dunk anime, but don't remember hearing positive things about the Toei release. Anyone know if this is this the same release, just by a different company?
Of course, if it's dub only, then that's reason enough for me to skip it. Still curious though. |
