I am SO salty over this movie & would much rather not buy any merchandise for it & insinuate that I enjoyed it... but damn it, that hair scrunchie & the notebook....... I want them so much...!
but yeah that butt is totally awkward & also kind of inappropriate, considering it's a butt pillow... of a 13 year old..........'s butt. lol |

Well, merchandise for fangirls continue to get as creepy as fanboy merchandise.
*sigh* In other news, I'm hearing some mixed reactions from the movie and that some material has been altered. Won't know for sure until later but I still want some new keychains. |

Wonder if this is commonplace for Japan because the legal age of consent is 13.

All the prefectures in Japan have raised the age of consent above 13 - and they take precedence over the national. Think of it like minimum wage - there's a national minimum wage, but when the state law's minimum wage is raised above the national, the state law takes precedence. |

...Well it took until now, but Free's finally got merch that disturbs me. You were doing so well, KyoAni. Did you really have to make the butt pillows representative of them as middle-schoolers...?
I mean, it could be worse. At least the design is more 'symbolic' than super detailed. But it's still puzzling. |

Most of the "Free!" merchandise I don't have any problems with but there is one I do have problems with. It's the pillow that looks like a thirteen-year-old boy's swimming suit-clad bottom. Are the Japanese doing this for the NAMBLA/pedophile market? (And for those not familiar with who I'm talking about,NAMBLA stands for North American Man Boy Love Association. Basically,it's an organization of sickos who wants to mainstream their sickness throughout American society. The majority of Americans are disgusted by this group,me included.)
I hope everyone else here can forgive me for saying this but I think that pillow is a bit creepy. And,I'd say it if it were a pillow of a thirteen-year-old girl's swimming suit-clad bottom.
