Cool to see Fukumoto return to Zero, finally. It started off slightly slow, but then became just as crazy and intense as any of his other works. And Part 1 ended on a giant cliffhanger...

Quote:
The story follows a teenager named "Zero" Ukai who is forced into a trillion-yen (about US$12-billion) competition to save his friend.

This synopsis is wrong, Zero was not forced into doing the competition. He rescued his friends from some gangsters, and they were released by Zaizen, the owner of the crime group. Impressed with Zero, he then INVITED them all to participate in the competition. They are not being held against their will. In fact, the gangsters resent Zero and his friends for being given the opportunity. This is like saying, "Return of the Jedi is a movie about Luke Skywalker, who must destroy the Death Star in order to save his friend Han Solo, who is frozen in carbonite". The story stopped being about a rescue after the first damn chapter, it's now all about risking their lives to win that trillion yen. If it's referring to Zero's friend who was critically injured during the first gamble, why does Zero need a TRILLION yen to save him? Does he require 50,000 surgical procedures at John Hopkins Hospital to live?

So, in the name of journalistic integrity, and to help you ACTUALLY become "The Internet's most trusted anime news source", I demand that this shoddy synopsis be fixed immediately!
