Its a remake not a revival. There's been a new Ultraman series every year since 2013, the current series, Ultraman Z is still airing, even.

I wonder if the DVD/Blu-ray will include the Ultraman fan-film that Anno starred in from back in the day

No clue. The only image is the new Ultra standing alongside buildings like he’s waiting for the bus.
