Original always looks better. The era that it was originally made in always makes it look special, especially because of the creators vision. For example, I still get upset reading the Yugioh bunkoban and how Shueisha altered Yami Yugi's horror face starting from chapter 1 just to cater to children who like card games by making his face less scary in a series meant to have horror (and his outfit is inspired by Edward Scissorhands).
