"One autograph ticket per attendee" is rather different from "one ticket per autograph session."
I suppose one advantage of going to smaller conventions is that I haven't had to deal with either a limit on how many guest I could have autograph or how many things I could have them sign. One I went to had a policy asking not to bring more than two items, which I think was probably more relevant to the bigger locations they would run since the guests were fine with going over that since they had plenty of time and not enough people to fill it.

So they don't do the line up thing anymore where you get your ticket at 8 am? This is ridiculous that they are cancelling because they missed something.

Not ridiculous at all, different reasons people are drawn to conventions and guest interaction and autographs are major pull.
TBH this is more of AX as usual, they never seem to able to get the Autograph situation corrected and they have been doing this for 30+ years. My last AX was in 2023.. and that was the end of that.. lol.

The guest/autographer has a say in this too.
