So I think at this point TOHO animation is the only major anime production company that isn’t affiliated with Sony group.

While I understand that Sony and Bandai are large and full of different branches, the branches I keyed in on are Crunchyroll for Sony, and Bandai's various merchandising companies.
My concern is that this "partnership" is going to be choosing winners and losers in a way we won't fully appreciate until much later.

I wonder if this means Crunchyroll will re-release Gundam Blu-rays.

crunchyroll can't even get the Dirty Pair set which is licensed from sunrise (who if i recall are owned by Bandai Namco) out so i doubt gundam will happen

Gundam is a lot more popular than an obscure TV series from the 80s. The real question is do enough people even buy physical releases anymore to justify doing it.

Given how little the ownership stake is, this feels like an overt attempt to get first dibs on IP's. And given how badly Sony screwed up Saint Seiya, not to mention the fact that they've sat on Robotech for decades (and will continue to sit on it), I don't see much of anything coming out of it.
